Beginning 4-Treble Crochet Popcorn (beg 4-tr popcorn): ch 4 (counts as tr), 3 tr in ch sp indicated, drop yarn from hook, insert yarn in 1st tr, pick up yarn and draw through 1st tr.

4-Treble Crochet Popcorn (4-tr popcorn): 4 tr in ch sp indicated, drop yarn from hook, insert yarn in 1st tr, pick up yarn and draw through 1st tr.

Pattern Notes

The group of stitches made on rounds 8, 10, and 12 are called “petals” in the pattern.

Rounds 8-12 are worked in a similar manner to the Irish Rose motif.

The Doily

Ring: ch 4, join with sl st to 4th ch from hook.

Rnd 1: ch 5 (counts as tr, ch 1) (tr, ch 1) 15 times in ring; join with sl st to 4th ch of beg ch.

Rnd 2: sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same ch sp, *3 dc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch.

Rnd 3: ch 1, sc in same ch as joining, ch 3, sk next dc, *sc in next dc, ch 3, sk next dc; rep form * around, join with sl st to 1st sc.

Rnd 4: sl st in next ch-3 sp, beg Large SpCl over same ch sp, and in next ch-3 sp, ch 5, Small ScCl in last ch sp used and in next ch-3 sp, ch 5 *Large SpCl over last ch sp used and next 2 ch-3 sps, ch 5, Small SpCl in last ch sp used and in next ch-3 sp, ch 5; rep from * 6 more times, 2-tr cl in last ch sp used, join with sl st to beg Large SpCl (counts as completed Large SpCl).

Rnd 9: turn work, ch 1, *sl st between petals, ch 5; rep from * around, join with sl st to 1st sl st.

Rnd 10:    turn work, sl st in next ch-5 sp, ch 1 (sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc) in same ch sp, *(sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc) in next ch-5 sp; rep from * around, join with sl st to 1st sc.

Rnd 11: turn work, ch 1, *sl st between petals, ch 6; rep from * around, join with sl st to 1st sl st.
